Black Dot Wireless                                                                                         6/2013 – Present

Mission Viejo Ca.    

Construction Manager

Responsible for over-sight and management of all wireless construction projects completed by Black Dot Wireless in California.  I worked with Managed 4 wireless contractors and managing 12 crews to successfully completione the Sprint/Samsung Network-Vision project.  Lead the CX projects through the Bid, True-up, and payment processes successfully and profitably. Concurrently I managed an AT&T / LTE project in Lancaster/Palmdale which consisted of LTE/2C/3C installations, tower mods/upgrades and extensive RSSI and VSWR troubleshooting.  Black Dot acquired the AT&T/Cricket decom project in the BAWA market, and I was integral in responsible for completing the site walks and scoping required for 250 Cricket sites which AT&T plans to decommission and remove in 2016.

Responsibilities

•                                                                                                        Responsible for pulling all BP’s prior to construction and ensuring that post CX inspections were performed.
•                                                                                                        Created and submitted bids to the customer for the Net-Vision installations as well as the sub-sequent Legacy equip. decommission on the Samsung/Sprint project.
•                                                                                                        Attended weekly launch and customer support calls between the customer and Black Dot. to ensure that project timelines and priorities were maintained with high levels of quality and professionalism.

Lead Construction Manager

As Lead CM for B&V my activities included the planning, development, and roll out for the South. Valley market’s AT&T LTE equip. I and one other lead CM were was responsible for managing and directing a team of 12 field CM’s.  We attended Attended weekly meetings at AT&T’s office. with the project management team to discuss project timelines, priorities, as well as determine the most suitable course of action to meet our customer’s demands.  I was responsible for ensuring that the field teams were equipped to properly build the BOM’s and scope the sites for the LTE install. 

•                                                                                                        Performed “Pre-Con” site walks with the GC’s to define the OOM and identify the SOW. Delivering a clear understanding of what the customers’ expectations were pertaining to the build specifications and quality standards.
•                                                                                                         Identified which sites and clusters would be launched in order of priority and material availability
•                                                                                                         Worked closely with the RF team, site Aquisition. dept., , and AT&T project management. to identify material and logistic shortages to incorporate the proper lead time to avoid critically affecting launch schedules.

Construction Manager

As Construction Manager for Caltrop Corporation I wWas responsible for qualifying and contracting GC’s to perform site audits and construction for B&V.  I was able to utilize my LTE experience to apply to Caltrop’s needs for Black & Veatch in Ca. B&V  were deploying the LTE equip. in the NOR CAL AT&T Market.  Caltrop performed the site audits, A&E design, CD’s, and Zoning submittals for B&V / AT&T. Caltrop previously was unable keep up with customer expectations in relation to volume and quality with the site audits for B&V in the Nor Cal market.   I contracted 3three qualified GC’s from my network, managed three sub crews from New Mexico, and three Caltrop “in house “crews. With these resources and direction Caltrop went from unsuccessfully completing only 30 audits in the month of November to ultimately completing 320 audits by March.  I worked with my team to exceed customer expectations in both volume and quality.

•                                                                                                        Managed nine crews, performing up to 120 site audits per week[LR1]

As a CM for Ericsson I was responsible for GC site assignments and ensuring an even distribution of workload to the GC’s. available for construction. I performed the site walks with the contractors and built created the BOM’s for the LTE Wave 1 sites.  Reviewed and determined approval status for GC’s WA’s /CR requests.  Ensured that all AT&T documentation and COP Docs. were submitted in full and on time.  I cConsistently closed out $300,000.00 in LTE construction a month.

 

Deployment and launch of Wave 1A LTE Technology in the S.F Bay Market

Selected Achievements

·   Successfully identified “In-path obstacles”, and incorporated the upstream adjustments to overcome or lead them sufficiently as to not impact production.

·   Completed over 70 LTE site installations in the S.F Bay market, from design through M.S 106 / handoff to AT&T.  I obtained the required knowledge, contacts, and skill-set to keep Ericsson profitable throughout the AT&T LTE launch.

While working on Occidental Petroleum’s exploration expansion projects in the Bakersfield and Lost Hills area I expanded the existing power grid to serve and reach new drilling and pumping sites.  Worked with other linemen to perform upgrades and maintenance to the existing power grid and built new transformer banks and circuits to reach previously inaccessible areas.

Construction manager  / Business  development coordinator  As crew foreman my responsibilities included; overseeing crew operations and co-location installs for the Metro PCS 3G build out in Bakersfield.  Responsible for purchasing material, installing the site, testing the site, and assimilating the closeout packages while ensuring the crew operated under strict safety guidelines.
